In Mexico City, the police managed to arrest three people in different neighborhoods following a series of violent attacks that resulted in a tragic toll in the capital. Two men aged 20 and 30, and a 30-year-old woman were brought before the Public Prosecutor's Office after these events.
One of the episodes occurred in the Hipódromo Condesa neighborhood, where a Colombian man, an alleged member of the Tren Aragua Cartel, was shot dead on Nuevo León street. In other areas like the Bondojito neighborhood, an individual was murdered, and his body, bound, was abandoned on the public road and later set on fire. In the Renovación neighborhood, Iztapalapa, armed attackers entered a home and shot one of the residents before fleeing.
In another incident, a pair of motorcycle hitmen opened fire on people at a motorcycle workshop in the Narvarte Poniente neighborhood, resulting in one person dead and two injured. The capital police managed to detain the assailants thanks to a virtual perimeter, after identifying that they abandoned a motorcycle and got into a red vehicle.
These events add to a series of direct shootings in Mexico City over a four-day period, which has instilled fear in the neighborhoods. Residents in the area reported that the attacked workshop in Narvarte was known as a drug selling point, which could have triggered the violence in that place. Other deadly incidents occurred at a gas station in the Gertrudis Sánchez neighborhood and in San Miguel Mixquic, where a group of people was targeted in an attack carried out by an armed command while sharing alcoholic drinks on the street.
In total, these events left a lamentable toll of nine people dead and three injured. The police continue to investigate to clarify the facts and ensure citizens' safety in the Mexican capital.
